Jorge: Born to Perform

Known predominantly around the New York live music circuit as a founding member of the Beatles tribute band Rubber Soul and one half of the Freakin’ Ricans – an acoustic duo whose eclectic performances gained popularity on the local music scene more than 10 years ago, Jorge has been performing regularly for more than 25 years. Jorge’s rich, honey-dewed vocal style has also found him in demand as a featured performer with many music artists in the Hudson Valley region.

In addition to lending a hand to scores of live performances, Jorge has contributed musically to local and regional acts like singer-songwriter Julie Corbalis and acoustic duo Deuces Child, appearing on the artists' respective CDs, "What's Up With This Heart?" and "Baby Steps."

Jorge also performs a wide variety of songs under the moniker "The Latin Lounge Lizard" using high-quality backing tracks for parties and other special events including health care facilities where entertaining for the sick and elderly has a very special place in his heart.

Says Jorge, “In the spirit of Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, and countless others who have influenced me throughout the years, I am fully aware that above all else it’s not just the connectedness that I feel with my fellow band mates, but it’s the connection that I make with my live audience that is critical to a gratifying show. When a performer and their audience share in a musical moment, it’s a transcendent, symbiotic experience. That is why I perform – and why I entertain!”
